The Gender Development Laboratory under the Department of Psychology in The Chinese University of Hong Kong is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Associate / Research Assistant to assist in several projects. The themes of the current projects cut across gender issues in sex-segregation and single-sex schooling, children’s gender-typed play and socio-cognitive abilities, gender cognitions and stereotyping, and the accuracy of everyday mind-reading or empathic accuracy. Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Psychology or related fields (for Postdoctoral Fellow); OR a Master’s degree in the abovementioned field plus four years’ relevant post-qualification experience (for Research Associate); OR a Bachelor’s degree or above in the abovementioned field (for Research Assistant); (ii) background in Developmental/Social/Educational Psychology and/or empirical gender research; (iii) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably Cantonese); (iv) familiarity with statistical analyses; (v) experience in managing research projects; and (vi) good organisational and personal skills, a sense of responsibility, and attentiveness to details.
The appointee will be involved in (a) managing projects; (b) data collection and statistical analyses; (c) supervising junior members; and (d) publication and grant writing.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to funding availability, good performance mutual agreement.
